Limited Amphibiousness. The shalarin can breathe air and water, but it needs to be submerged at least once every 4 hours to avoid suffocating.

Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, the shalarin has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Brave. The shalarin has advantage on saving throws against being frightened and charmed.

Brute. A melee weapon deals one extra die of its damage when the shalarin hits with it (included in the attack).

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The shalarin makes two attacks with its trident.

Trident. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage, or 12 (2d8 + 3) piercing damage if used with two hands to make a melee attack.

Corrupt Water (1/day). Any exposed water within a 15-foot radius is fouled until it evaporates or is cleared by a current, or until you finish a short or long rest. Underwater, this effect lightly obscures the area until a current clears it away. Water in containers remains corrupted until it evaporates.
A creature that consumes this foul water or swims in it must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. On a successful save, the creature is immune to the foul water for 24 hours. On a failed save, the creature takes 7 (3d4) poison damage.
If another demon drinks the foul water as an action, it gains 7 (3d4) temporary hit points and the water is unfouled.

Shalarin judges, called "Ob'dag'larin" in their own tongue, make up 1% of Dagon's shalarin cult, and are signified by their heavy musculature and the sickly bioluminescent green teeth-like markings on their fins. Judges are chosen from Dagon's most loyal and fruitful worshipers, and bring his messages to As'dagon's {shalarin rulers in place of the rare wastrilith. They also serve as unquestioned military commanders, revered symbols of worship, and direct servants of demons sent by their unholy patron.
While Dagon had a great number of sahuagin worshipers before he ever set his sights of the shalarin, their god Sekolah makes a valuable ally in their bloody conquest of the seas. Instead, he chose to cut off the shalarin from Trishina and supplant the naive lesser goddess, hoping to attain divine status as the god of shalarin just as Asmodeus became the god of tieflings.
