Races[edit]

Your choice of race for your characters is one of the first reflections of yourself as a player. Each of the varied races of Cantalthis has its own culture and traits, informed by a long history and their interactions with other cultures.

Cantalthis’s realm walls are more “porous” than those of other planes, during the breaking portals spread around the globe, ripping open connections between Orizon and planes across the multiverse. The gods of the first age made it their mission to seal away these portals, and though they were all closed some still open, and some creatures traveled through these portals and came to make Cantalthis their home.

Because of this, very few species are entirely unknown to the world of Cantalthis, though they may exist only in small, scattered, populations.

The descriptions in this chapter are generalizations, broad-stroke descriptions of the values and traits of a particular race. There are outliers and exceptions within every group of people.

All the races described in the Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition Player’s Handbook can be found on Cantalthis. The descriptions on this wiki are compatible with the grimdark setting of Cantalhthis setting. So long as the campaign takes place on Cantalthis, the information in this section supersedes the Player’s Handbook.
