Plasmoid (Grisaire Supplement)
From D&D Wiki
Plasmoids, known as zantin, were an ancient race of ooze-fungus creatures made in collaboration between deities Charylt and Darakan'ta. They were created originally as a cautionary tale to not eat everything you get your hands on, and went extinct in the Tide Pool Era. Their residue was recycled back into nature, creating the Zanthani. The exact method is unclear. It is believed that anyone who ate zantin would be turned into a plant slowly, as the ooze-fungus changed the innards of the eater. By the end, the zantin would be completely melded into the eater's body and have changed them into a zanthani. The eater's body and mind would be changed through this metamorphosis, resulting in them becoming a different person. Like the zantin they recklessly ate, they would become servants of Darakan'ta and her cause to defend nature and its pristine beauty.
The extinction of zantin is unclear as well. Scholars speculate that Darakan'ta saw zantin would serve a greater good incorporated into another form, like the zanthani. Thus, they were used as synthesis materials for Darakn'ta in making more zanthani, but no longer requiring someone to eat them. Instead, they became able to reproduce asexually through spores and other plants. Zantin thus sort of live on within zanthani.
If you wish to play a plasmoid character in current-day Grisaire, you would be zantin. Perhaps you were one such plasmoid that Darakan'ta spared in her repurposing of the race.
