Your tongue temporarily becomes that of a kelpie, lashing out your target. Make a spell attack against one Small or smaller object, or one creature of your choice. On a hit, a creature takes 1d8 poison damage, and is paralyzed until the end of your next turn.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 5th.
