Dense. Once the jugashen stops swimming, it sinks in water. It ignores the extra movement cost for moving through water while walking.

Hold Breath. The jugashen can hold its breath for 1 hour.

Keen Sight. The jugashen has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Mud Strider. The jugashen ignores difficult terrain imposed by swampy environments.

Swamp Camouflage. The jugashen has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in swampy terrain.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The jugashen makes two claw attacks and one bite attack.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d6 + 6) piercing damage. If the target is is grappled in the jugashen's claws when the bite reduces it to 0 hit points, it is dismembered.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8 + 6) slashing damage. If the target is a Large or smaller creature, it is grappled (Escape DC 16).

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a Huge or smaller creature, it must succeed a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is also pushed 15 ft. away from the jugashen on a failed save.

Swallow. The jugashen makes one bite attack against a Medium or smaller creature he is grappling in its claws. If the attack hits, the target takes the bite's damage, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. While swallowed, the creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the jugashen, and it takes 21 (6d6) acid damage at the start of each of the jugashen's turns.
If the jugashen takes 15 damage or more on a single turn from the swallowed creature, the jugashen must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate the creature, which falls prone in a space within 10 feet of the jugashen. If the jugashen dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse by using 15 feet of movement, exiting prone.

BONUS ACTIONS

Aggressive. The jugashen moves up to its speed toward a hostile creature that it can see.

Largest of the spirit drakes and at 9 tons in the largest males Kaimere's largest thescelosaur after the qotaur, the jugashen (Anianser gorgonlomus “Hag goose, silent gorgon”) is the most famous of the spirit drakes and an iconic member of the Seridic Wetlands ecosystem, though they are found beyond the Known World in both northern Arvel and western Ni'Khar in lesser abundance. This reputation is not one of praise however, as jugashen is a beast spoken of in hushed tones around the fire and by mothers to tell children to stay indoors at night.
Growing Up Jugashen. Jugashen have the longest childhood and some of the highest parental investment of any thescelosaur in Kaimere, taking five years to reach adulthood and having the largest eggs of any dinosaur on the planet. While generally solitary, jugashen will live with their mother at least up until a year, typically when the next clutch of eggs hatches, then with siblings until they reach adolescence as jugashen are quite vulnerable and have many predators when young. As adults though, they have little to fear so long as they stay away from the more forested regions of the Wetlands where zentaur live and the deeper channels frequented by bull kurajaku. When near water or their dens, Jugashen become extremely aggressive and violent, charging whatever they perceive as a threat to their territory. They keep a dense coat of feathers until their first year, at which point the feathers lose their thermoregulatory benefits and they have only a thin coat on their back and a mane, which in the most impressive males can grow two meters.
Ghoul of the Swamp. Spirit drakes are among the most predatory of thescelosaurs and jugashen are among the most predatory of spirit drakes, readily wading into shallows and taking fish several meters long in their claws. Their beaks are incredibly sharp and easily able to dismember prey in rapid succession, powered by a bite that is strong and a reinforced skull. Despite the latter adaptation however, they still retain enough cranial kinesis to swallow whole prey up to several hundred pounds and readily snatch up small game.
Unfortunately, to an animal that can weigh up to 9 tons and measure 12 meters in length, human beings absolutely qualify as small game. Most unusual among dinosaurs in Kaimere, jugashen predating on humans is well documented: while a zentaur or kurajaku may raid a village for livestock, jugashen are much more interested in the villagers themselves. More terrifying is that, for an animal their size, they are surprisingly quite stalkers, with the only evidence of an attack being the missing person and webbed footprints in the morning. From flooding and mud to ferocious hyaenodonts and giant crocodiles, there are many reasons for the high walls and elevated huts of the Seridic peoples, but among the most bone chilling and fearsome is without a doubt the jugashen.

Varient:Kodrankoku

The kodrankoku of Pakardia's highland lakes is a close relative of the jugashen, generally considered a different species of the same species (A. macrogaiensis). They are proportionately more robust despite being slightly smaller and, due to Pakardia's colder climate, have a longer period with insolating feathers with females being feathered all year round, although males are so large they can get away with just a mane. Due to not having the great predators of the Seridic Wetlands, kodrankoku do not share their northern cousin's aggression and predatory tendencies, being mostly herbivorous and so common that they tolerate each other's presence despite being solitary. A kodrankoku has a CR of 8 (3,900 XP), 115 (11d12 + 44) hit points, and lack the Aggressive bonus action.
