Ambusher. The jaguar lord has advantage on attack rolls against any creature it has surprised.

Innate Spellcasting. The jaguar lord's innate spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 14). The jaguar lord can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: detect evil and good, scalesnare, see invisibility
3/day: hypnotic pattern
1/day: dimension door

Mimicry. The jaguar lord can mimic any sounds it has heard, including voices. A creature that hears the sounds can tell they are imitations with a successful DC 14 Wisdom (Insight) check.

Semi-Amorphous. The jaguar lord can move through a space as narrow as 3 feet wide without squeezing.

Keen Smell. The jaguar lord has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Pounce. If the jaguar lord moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 17 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the jaguar lord can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The jaguar lord makes three attacks: one with its bite, and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d10 + 4) piercing damage.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) slashing damage.

Jaguar lords are horrid creatures native to the forests and swamps of Southern Maztica and Lopango, sometimes thought to be tabaxi touched by the Far Realm. They are often considered a form of parasite, lying and hypnotizing their way to the top of tabaxi tribes in order to drain the tribe of resources, even demanding blood sacrifices of its people, sometimes as part of or under the guise of offerings to Zaltec. When a jaguar lord has nearly destroyed its tribe, it will choose a tabaxi to mate with, the product of which is always a male jaguar lord.
A jaguar lord's typical appearance is thought to be its attempt to blend in, appearing as its approximation of a jaguar, their faces too doglike, their fur too sleek, their muscles too large. It is only through truesight that their true form is seen: a great writhing mass of mouths and tongues, a trait often associated with the Far Realm, and one they share with ahuizotl. It is for this reason that they despise couatls, hunting them on sight; even a single creature knowing their true nature could jeopardize their position.
