Saving Throws Dex +3 Cowardice. If the jackal has no temporary hit points, it becomes frightened of any hostile creature that comes within 15 feet of it for 1 minute or until it has temporary hit points. Eye Scope. If the jackal is hit by a critical hit, its eye scope is destroyed, causing its Type-50 Beam Sniper's range to become 150/300 feet. ACTIONSType-50 Beam Sniper. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 300 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (3d8 + 3) lightning damage. This weapon attacks the first creature in a line with a length equal to this weapon's range. If a creature is killed by this weapon, it attacks the next creature in the line, dealing its remaining damage on a hit.

One step removed from minor, Covenant jackal snipers operate the closest to how the various jackal pirate bands do, being dropped along routes from human hardpoints to Covenant landings to pick off any human who gets too close with disgusting accuracy. Unlike most ranks, they aren't given a distinguishing color, instead being given armor that blends in with their surroundings. Still, should a combatant get too close, they are still almost guaranteed to flee. |
