Sometimes referred to as a "sandman," a geldman appears as a massive, powerfully-built humanoid about 10 feet in height. Its body seems to be composed entirely of tightly-packed sand, save for the stark white and pupil-devoid eyes that adorn its angered face. These monsters dwell almost exclusively in areas of loose sand, such as deserts or beaches, where they spend most of their time just under the surface of the sand. When a foreign creature approaches, the geldman manifests its powerful upper body above the sand, and rapidly "wades" through the dunes towards the intruder. For seemingly for no purpose other than pure cruelty and malice, a geldman attacks with powerful punches from fists as hard as stone.

Tales tell of a geldman grabbing an unsuspecting traveler and pulling him or deep deep under the dunes to suffocate or starve in an agonizing death. Realistically, however, a typical geldman does not seem to be capable of pulling an adult humanoid underground quite so easily.

Elemental Nature. A geldman doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep.
