The absolute limit of natural life, gargantuan beasts suffer the same detractions as huge beasts to the nth degree. Due to the sheer weight of their bodies, they typically stay in aquatic environments, though certain beasts lengthen their bodies and strengthen their bones and muscles to survive on land. Due to their size, even simple injuries often fail to heal effectively. Still, these downsides are almost always outweighed by their unrivaled strength. VariantsBlue Whale. The beast has a movement speed of 120 ft. and a movement speed of 5 ft., can hold its breath for 90 minutes and won't lose his held breath as a result of damage, has blindsight of 120 ft. that does not function while it is deafened, and has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing. Cachalot. The beast has a movement speed of 120 ft. and a movement speed of 5 ft., can hold its breath for 90 minutes and won't lose his held breath as a result of damage, deals double damage to objects and structures, and has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing. Colossal Squid. The beast has a swimming speed of 45 ft., its attacks automatically hit a creature it is grappling, and any creature it is grappling is restrained instead of grappled. Giganotosaurus. The beast may attempt to grapple a creature as a bonus action immediately after hitting the creature with a bash attack, the beast's bash attacks deal either piercing or bludgeoning damage, and its attacks automatically hit a creature it is grappling. If a creature fails the beast's Trampling Charge feature's saving throw, they take 18 (2d12 + 5) piercing damage in addition to being knocked prone. Megalodon. The beast has a movement speed of 120 ft. and a movement speed of 5 ft., can only breath water, may attempt to grapple a creature as a bonus action immediately after hitting the creature with a bash attack, the beast's bash attacks deal either piercing or bludgeoning damage, and its attacks automatically hit a creature it is grappling.
