Flatten Target (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
7th-level Transmutation | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | 60 feet |
Components: | a simple painted picture |
Duration: | Concentration, Up to 1 minute |
The spell may be cast on creatures or objects. Upon casting, the target must make a Wisdom saving throw contested by your spell DC to resist the spells effects. On a failure will immediately be propelled to the nearest perpendicular surface (ex. wall, tree, door). If there isn't a perpendicular surface within 60ft of it, nothing happens and the spell slot is wasted. If the target is inanimate or a willing creature, they don't have to make the saving throw. Upon coming into contact with the wall, it will slow down as all all of its being is turned into paint. Now it is represented by a simple painting of it on the wall. On a successful save, the creature isn’t affected.
A creature restrained by this spell must make another Wisdom saving throw at the end of each of its turns. If it successfully saves against this spell three times, the spell ends. If it fails its saves three times, it is turned into a painting of itself for the duration. The successes and failures don’t need to be consecutive; keep track of both until the target collects three of a kind. If the creature is physically broken while in this state, it suffers from similar deformities if it reverts to its original state. If the target is inanimate or a willing creature, they don't have to make the saving throws.
- A creature in this state is incapacitated, , can’t move or speak, and is unaware of its surroundings
- Attack rolls against the creature have advantage
- The creature automatically fails Strength and Dexterity Saving Throws
- The creature has Resistance to all Bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage
The creature is immune to poison and disease, although a poison or disease already in its system is suspended, not neutralized
If you maintain your concentration on this spell for the entire possible duration, the creature is turned into a painting until the effect is removed.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th-level or higher, you can increase the amount of targets for the spell.
