Fetus in a Jar, Lesser (5e Equipment)

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement) This jar contains the preserved fetus of a magically-inclined race, such as a Drow or Tiefling. This item holds 9 charges, regaining 1d3 after a short rest or 1d6+3 after a long rest. The fetus has 15 hit points and an AC of 5, and retains its races' resistances and vulnerabilities. As long as you are within 300 feet of this item, you may use a bonus action and expend 1 or more of its charges to cause the fetus to cast the spell Fireball. This spell is cast at 3rd level with a DC of 12, or at 1 level higher with a +3 to the DC for every additional charge used. Although not technically illegal, the creation and use of these items is generally frowned upon, especially by whichever race is used as the base material component.
