Eviscerate
8th-level Necromancy
Casting time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: S
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

You attack the heart of a creature that you can see within range. If the target has a functioning cardiovascular system, it must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the target takes 5d10 necrotic damage. For the duration, the target has disadvantage on all ability checks and saving throws (except for saving throws against this spell) and its speed is halved. On a successful save, the target takes 5d10 necrotic damage and the spell ends.

A creature that fails its initial saving throw against this spell must make a new Constitution saving throw at the start of each of its turns. If the target achieves 3 successes on these saving throws, the spell ends. If the target instead suffers 3 failures on these saving throws, the target is instantly killed due to extreme cardiac arrest. These successes and failures don't need to be consecutive; keep track of both until the target collects three of a kind.
