Preserving Races of War Original Content[edit]

In responding to a nearly decade-old request on the Races of War Barbarian Talk Page, I inspected several other items in the Races of War Sourcebook and found that they had largely been tampered with, marked for deletion/improvement, or otherwise were subject to a great amount of peril.
While I know that the sourcebook isn't everyone's cup of tea, I'd like to make a major effort in preserving the original content of the sourcebook for the good of the wiki. Yes, some, if not most, of the information present deviates from 3.5e standards, but as we've always argued, that is because it is intentionally deviating in an effort to address and implement major deficiencies in 3.5e and new rules there-of. Given the amount of work put into the sourcebook, and its high quality, I think it is worth preserving.
I'd like to move all the pages back to their original appearance and lock them. As this would be a rather large amount of pages, I've opened this discussion to gather input and any dissent.

Does the related content have the Supplement category (so it doesn't appear in general lists) and design disclaimer? Marasmusine (talk) 12:21, 12 September 2016 (MDT)

As it stands, it appears that most of them have the supplement category, although any outliers that may exist have not been detected. The Design Disclaimer has not been applied, so far. Is it ready for use? --Jwguy (talk) 12:45, 12 September 2016 (MDT)

Yes it is. Template:Design Disclaimer I think it works quite well, there are many pages which are already using it, and many users have picked it up without being prompted... So Id say that would be ready for action!

If we're preserving sourcebook material, then yeah, stick a disclaimer on it, consider requesting a Namespace for it, and make sure all the pages are protected, to avoid tampering and templating.

Design disclaimer then lock the page. That's all that is really necessary for RoW variants.
