Can i copy things that i put on dnd wiki and earn money on it without doing anything illegal? (Gaga (talk) 03:03, 13 April 2021 (MDT))

I'm pretty sure that would break some laws. I don't know what laws (I'm really bad about legal matters), but I'm pretty sure that violates some fair use law. Publishing free content for money is almost certainly illegal. Your submissions to the wiki technically are owned by the wiki itself, and therefore publishing homebrew content that was created on the wiki (even if you are the sole contributor) for money would break some fair use laws. I would link a website explaining the law itself, but honestly I don't have one. If you want more details than that, you should ask an admin. They know more about the legal matters of the wiki than I do. For now, though, know that you could get into some serious trouble for doing that, so you shouldn't.

The wiki's materials are free for use and released as such. It isn't as much illegal as it is pointless since people can come here for free. If you want to make material to sell, you're better off making something unique that not everyone has seen already. I think that is what the CC and GNU is, but I could be wrong.

As long as the content is released under the same license as on D&D Wiki and you mention the authors of the page in the publication, then yes you may. See also GNU Free Documentation License 1.3. A link to the history page should also suffice as credit to the contributors of the page.

Many people already have. My angry reddit comment isn't going to stop anyone from doing anything.
