Combat Armor[edit]
Armor Class (AC) | Strength | Stealth | Weight | |
---|---|---|---|---|
13+Dex 2 | — | 20lbs lb. |
A set of modern composite combat armor, commonly worn by special police, military combat personnel, or some private citizens. Includes a helmet, chestplate, arm guards, and leg armor, as well as an armored skirt protecting the lap and hips. This armor is made up of modern aramid fibres, and has various accommodations for mission equipment. The armor has an under-layer to manage heat and absorb shock, and has spaces for armored plates. Incoming Piercing physical damage is reduced by 1.
Armor Inserts: Depending on the protection level of the armor plates inserted, this bestows additional Physical damage reduction. As an example, here is a Rifle rated Ceramic armor plate.
A full set of this class armor insert weighs 20lbs. Each plate protects the location for 6 additional resistance against physical damage, but has its own health. For the player's sake, you may track the cumulative health total or locationalize. The armor has 115 total health, or 40 armor in the torso, 15 in each of the upper and lower limbs, and 15 on the head.
Having a torso insert provides 3 additional AC, due to the enhanced protection it offers, but further armor plating does not boost AC as its chances of negating a shot are more or less balanced by the reduced ability to avoid the damage in the first place.
Loadbearing: This equipment is intended to simplify usage for operations, thus having no strength requirement or movement penalties even if equipped with armor inserts.
