Unassuming (5e Variant Rule)

An unassuming weapon can be brought through areas where conventional weapons are forbidden, such as through the guarded entrance of a city. Granted, it may be suspicious if an unassuming weapon is out-of-place— such as bringing a pickaxe to a nightclub. Just as the weapon itself is unassuming, this property is subtle enough to not be listed with other properties — similar to how weapons suitable for underwater combat don't have that property openly listed.

Unassuming Weapons[edit]

Unassuming weapons Cost Damage Weight Properties
Book 25 gp 1d4 bludgeoning 5 lb. Focus (cleric, wizard)
Monkey Wrench 15 gp 1d6 Bludgeoning 20 lb. Versatile (1d8), Special
Oar 4 sp 1d6 bludgeoning 8 lb. Heavy, reach, two-handed
Pickaxe 2 gp 1d4 piercing 10 lbs. Destructive, versatile (1d6)
Scalpel 10 gp 1d4 pierce 1 lb. Finesse, undersized, special

Umbrella 5 gp 1d6 bludgeoning or 1d6 piercing 20.5 ½ lbs Finesse

In addition to the weapons listed here, the quarterstaff is unassuming. Some clubs, greatclubs, and whips may be unassuming depending on their appearance.
