Range: | Touch |
Components: | 1 live Crab (Not consumed) |
Duration: | Varies |
Your palm and fingers start to shimmer a faint purple. Upon touching any living thing, the area touched is immediately mutated on a cellular level.
An incredibly inhumane spell devised by a most malignant sorcerer, Carcinogenesis is considered taboo even amongst some evil aligned casters. One must be careful when using this spell, as many would-be dark lords have suffered a fate caused by their hubris.
Casting. While making skin contact with a live crab, you can cast this spell. Casting takes one turn, after which the specific part of your body which touched the crab gains a faint purple shimmer. Upon touching any living organism with the affected area, including yourself, the target makes a DC 15 Constitution Saving Throw or takes 1d4-1 Necrotic damage. The target’s affected area is now cancerous and may slightly mutate at the DM’s discretion.
At Higher Levels. When cast using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the rate of mutation increases exponentially, dealing an extra 1d4-1 Necrotic damage per level. At 5th level or higher, the growth may start becoming visible to the naked eye in real time.
Alignment Adjustment. Learning this spell automatically moves your alignment towards evil, with Good becoming Neutral and Neutral becoming Evil. There is no “Good” reason to know this spell. There is no reason to know this spell. Unlearning this spell does not reset your alignment, but relearning it also will not lower it, unless you’ve otherwise somehow raised it again during the interim.
