You infect a creature within range with blood parasites that slowly eat away at it from the inside. They must make a Constitution saving throw, or take 2d6 necrotic damage. On a failure, they must make this save again at the start of their next turn. Every other time they take damage from this spell, they gain one level of exhaustion.
Creatures without blood are immune to this spell.
At Higher Levels. When cast at 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for every level above 3rd. Additionally, if cast at or above 5th level, it incurs exhaustion every time a creature takes damage from this spell.
