Blasting Blade (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Weapon (Any melee weapon), rare (minor) When a weapon forged with too many imperfections is turned into a flametongue, the fire generated by the process is permanently sealed within the blade. Only by damaging the blade can the fire be released, though damage is quickly restored like many magic weapons. Blasting blades are usually marked as defective by a "!!CAUTION!!" stamp somewhere along its body. Gradual Release. This weapon has 100 hit points and is immune to all damage except fire damage. Every time you make an attack, the sword takes 1d8 fire damage, For every 20 hit points this weapon is missing, it deals an additional 1d4 fire damage. At the end of your turn, if the weapon has not taken fire damage since the end of your previous turn, the weapon is regains 1d4 hit points. Full Release. When this weapon reaches zero hit points, it is not immediately destroyed, and instead explodes at the end of your next turn. Each creature in a 20-foot radius sphere centered on the sword must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 10d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The fire spreads around corners and ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried. |
