Back-Step Scepter (5e Equipment)
Staff, very rare (requires attunement by a sorcerer, warlock, or wizard) This golden staff has a near-comically large amethyst floating in the warped cage on its head, and the sigil sequence of a permanent teleportation circle embedded in its shaft. A cap on the bottom of the staff can be twisted off. You can use the staff as an arcane focus. This staff has 5 charges. While attuned to this staff, you can expend 1 charge as an action to embed the cap on the bottom of the staff in the ground and detach it. When you do so, a permanent teleportation circle appears in the space if it can, centered on the cap. While this teleportation circle exists, you can use the teleportation circle spell or teleport spell to teleport to this circle. If you are on another plane, you can also use the plane shift spell or gate spell to do the same. Additionally, you can use your action while near the cap to replace it on the staff, making the teleportation circle vanish. The staff loses one charge whenever anyone teleports to the teleportation circle. The teleportation circle cannot be used while the staff has 0 charges. The staff regains 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. |
