Arceus is one of the gods given the title of creator of life. However, he does not seem to be particularly concerned with the wellbeing, as there have been no recorded occasions of his intervention. Indeed, he only presents himself to those who have proven themselves many times in battle and achieved the title of "strongest", although there is supposed to be a method of summoning him with an instrument...
Dogma
Put simply, Arceus values life above all else. Those who also value life shall be in his favour, and creation of new life is not forbidden - in fact, it is sometimes promoted. Resurrections are highly valued, as Arceus does not appreciate death - there's a reason pokémon only "faint".
Clergy and Temples
Arceus very rarely receives temples, as they are seen as a corruption of nature. However, his clergy are often wandering clerics or simply those who believe.
Origin
Arceus is the 493rd Pokemon in the Pokemon video game series by Nintendo. In the beginning of time, Arceus created the Sinnoh region and Dialga, Palkia and Giratina. He then created Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf. He then fell into a deep sleep. The player can wake up Arceus in the Diamond, Pearl and Platinum versions and battle and catch him. Arceus has the ability Multiplate which changes its type depending on the Plate Arceus holds. Arceus's signature attack is Judgement, a powerful beam that hits the opposing Pokemon.
