Quicksand
2nd-level transmutation
Casting time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 minute

You point at a 10-foot square patch of rock, dirt or sand centered on a point within range. The area becomes quicksand for the duration. Quicksand is difficult terrain. When the quicksand appears, each creature standing in its area must succeed on a Strength saving throw or become restrained. A creature that enters the area or ends its turn there must also succeed on a Strength saving throw or become restrained.

Creatures restrained by the quicksand can use its action to make a Strength check against your spell save DC. On a success, it frees itself. On a failure, it sinks further into the quicksand and has disadvantage on subsequent Strength checks made to escape it, until it escapes.
