DeLiszt's Dirty Little Secret (5e Spell)
2nd-level Divination | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | 5 ft. |
Components: | V, M (parchment, red ink) |
Duration: | Instantaneous |
While speaking to a creature, you glimpse into its mind and learn one of its secrets. As an action, you cast this spell on a creature within 5 ft. of you that can hear you and understands at least one language. The spell fails against a target with an Intelligence of 3 or lower. The target makes a Wisdom saving throw, and it has advantage if it does not understand the language you're speaking in. On a success, the spell ends. On a failure, you learn a secret of the DM's choice that the target is keeping from you. You may ask the DM for a certain kind of secret—for example, one the target is ashamed of, or one that will rile it up—however, the DM won't answer any specific questions.
If you invoke the secret in conversation with the target, the DM may grant you advantage on certain ability checks. For example, if you learn that the target is wanted by the city watch, you may roll Charisma (Intimidation) checks with advantage if you threaten to turn them in.
