Avian Assault
1st-level illusion
Casting time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S, M (a feather from the kind of bird you wish to make an illusion of)
Duration: Instantaneous

You summon a small bird and send it flying at a a creature within range. The bird is an ominous and cryptic omen that the target may not understand, causing mental stress to accumulate within the target. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw or take 2d8 + your spellcasting modifier psychic damage. On a successful save, the target creature takes half as much damage. If the target creature is immune to the frightened condition, it makes the Wisdom saving throw with advantage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
