Versatile (1d8) Staffs made from zalantar wood weigh half as much as normal wooden staffs of the same type. Due to this weight reduction, any attack with a zalantar gem staff gets a +1 bonus to its attack roll. In the centre of the zalantar gem staff is a small opening. You can place certain gemstones worth at least 10 gp in this opening. If you do, the staff will glow and any attack that hits will do 2 points of extra damage. Only one gemstone can be placed in the staff at any time and it can be removed or replaced.
