Xemnas is a powerful Nobody and leader of the cabal known as Organization XIII. Like his Heartless counterpart, Xemnas covets the power of Kingdom Hearts and will do anything to obtain it. Empty Shell. When the mad sage Ansem became a Heartless, his discarded body did not die. Echoes of his personality, memories, and force of will lingered within the husk, giving it new life as a soulless Nobody. This Nobody took the name Xemnas to distinguish himself from his past self and his Heartless counterpart. First Among Thirteen. Xemnas is the founder and leader of Organization XIII, a cabal of similar strong-willed Nobodies that share his desire to become whole again. From their fortress in the Gray Wastes, they plot and scheme ways to obtain the power of Kingdom Hearts, believing that it can grant them new souls to fill their empty shells. Power of Nothingness. Xemnas draws power from the empty void where his soul should be, letting him use unusual forms of magic against his foes. Most notable are his “ethereal blades”, rods of pure magical energy projected from the palms of his hands, which he uses as both melee weapons and projectiles. He can also hurl balls of explosive magical force, and lay an electrifying curse upon his foes. |
