Weapon Chain (5e Equipment)

From D&D Wiki

Cost: 6 gp per 5 feet

Designed to link together two similarly-sized weapons, weapon chains range from 5 to 15 feet long. You may attach or detach a weapon in your possession to a weapon chain as an action. A weapon attached to a weapon chain gains the returning property, and if it has the thrown property, its range is decreased to chain length/chain length + 5 feet, if it was not already lower.

If two creatures are each wielding a weapon connected by the same weapon chain, the chain occupies a straight line between them, and the location of the chain counts as part of their weapon's reach. Such creatures can not move in any way that would make the area the chain occupies longer than the chain.

While most weapon chains are designed to only attach to weapons with the light property, variants can be special ordered, with each having a flat increase to their total cost: one-handed non-light weapons (+4 gp), one-handed heavy weapons (+8 gp), two-handed weapons (+12 gp), and heavy two-handed weapons (+16 gp).
