Weapon Bonding Gem (5e Equipment)

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement) This small, roughly eye sized gemstone glows with a swirling, soft light. When held up to a weapon it begins to hum in an erratic, but orderly rhythm. During a short or long rest, you may set this gemstone to a weapon of your choice. This creates a bond between you and your weapon. The weapon gains the following benefits. The weapon becomes magical You can instantaneously summon the weapon to your hand as a bonus action, unless you don't have a free hand Weapon attacks made with the weapon score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 If the gemstone is removed from the weapon, it loses all of these properties, and must be bonded again to regain them.
