Divine Rank. Greater Deity

oh hey mods, I want to make the different dwarf folk(Firstlings, secondlings, etc) into DND things you can play as, I personally think it would be a sub-race, but I could see background, also, should I do each one separate or put the different folk into one and just separate them in the same page?

"Death came for the dwarf and tried to take him, whereupon the warrior squared his shoulders, dug his heels against the granite floor, and told him to go. Death turned around and left.” - Apologue from the southern provinces of Sangpür.

“Dwarves and mountains have one thing in common: It takes an almighty hammer and a tremendous amount of persistence to overcome them.” -Traditional saying from the Murk region, northeast, Idoslane.

“At the battle of the Blacksaddle, trolls were wailing, orcs whimpering, and our battle-hardened warriors were close to despair, but I never saw a dwarf lose heart.” - PaldurIl, personal guard to Liütasil of Alandur, Lord of the Elves.

Even the elves have taken notice.

You cannot talk about Vraccas without talking of the things he made

Vraccas, A God of the Dwarves, a God who the legends say created the Dwarves from the very stone of the mountains the live in, Vraccas listens to all of his children from his realm, the eternal smithy. Vraccas formed the Dwarves with a stubborn demeanor and the other traits commonly associated with dwarves and tasked them with protecting the humans of Girdlegard(or in this case, whatever DND realm you are in). the children of the smith, another name for dwarves, are known to have a dislike towards elfs, orcs, goblins, etc, but have been known to put aside grudges to work together, and have even been friends on rare occasions. though his dwarves almost all have a strong distaste for water, even such as a river not even a half foot deep, but a dwarves determination for the goal will let nothing stop them.

Vraccas lives in his Smithy, the Eternal Smithy, of which all dwarves join him when they pass on, though those wicked, those who would go the the hell of other religions, are put with the coals fueling the flames of the forge.

Vraccas is said to look like a true Dwarf, long, full, dark beard and strong muscles. and he is represented the same as his symbol, a hammer of true dwarven make, and an anvil, Vraccas is also known from legends to be benevolent and kind, letting the inner furnace(life force) of Dwarves and even other beings fighting for good to keep burning even after it should have been extinguished if he can see that they will still do good, or the job is not yet finished

Vraccas and his mortal enemy, Tion, leave the fighting to their creations on the realms they are on, Vraccas's Dwarves and Tions orc and Alfs(for all perpuses, just drow)

Almost all dwarves pray to Vraccas, humans are also known to pray to Vraccas in appreciation for the Dwarves but usually have their own god(s) too, and all smiths are places to worship and pray to Vraccas, but he does have churches, who by the alter have a hammer and anvil. a part of each serves is to sing songs of past legends and of Vraccas himself, and to beat the hammer on the anvil for the tempo of the song, as to the Dwarves, and to Vraccas's decree, to remember and worship those of the past is just as important to worship him. and there is no good book of Vraccas, there is only word of mouth, though some may have words of prayers on them, and his churches may have a book of their own for prayers there is no one book, or one way to pray and worship

for story hooks and quests, it is the job and duty of all Dwarves and those who worship Vraccas to do good and snuff out evils flame, so any quest against evil works

Related artifacts, spells, favored weapon/ color/ creature

An artifact of great power called Keenfire, and axe forged from the alloy of the purest metals by dwarvern smiths, encrusted with gems from the best Dwarves jewelers, some stone work by the best Dwarves masons, and a branch of a tree, a tree called a sigurdaisy tree, who's Wood as as strong as the strongest metals and stone, but as light as a normal handle, is used for the handle. and enchanted with runes that when welded by one chosen by Vraccas, a person who would normally be an enemy of the Dwarves, but who's heart is true and good, light up, and with this axe any force of evil can be killed, no matter how much magic. but that was before, only two keenfires have been made, both lost, and no more can be made as the sigurdaisy tree is now extinct. (in the book only thirdlings, more specifically, Tungdill, could use its power)

Vraccas made 5 family's of dwarf, I will go over those at the end for magic

The favored weapon of Vraccas is the same for Dwarves, an axe, hammer, crows beak, etc, but not swords

Vraccas made the dwarves, he created them from the very stone of the mountains they live, he made five folks, the firstlings, secondlings, thirdlings, fourthlings, and fiftlings.

the firstlings he gave the gift of ingenuity(or so I can remember, they have and make almost all the complicated machinery in the book), and a fondness for working with gold.

the secondlings he gave the gift of masonry, even the worst secondling could tell the true quality of stone just from looking at it(of course it would take a moment while looking at it).

Vraccas gave the thirldlings no gift, or so was thought, the thirdling refused the name Vraccas gave him so Vraccas gave no gift, so they would have to gain any skill themselves, and thus became the dwarf-haters, dwarfs who kill other dwarfs(later they put aside there differences, so if you use them in a game, they could be chill, or not, up to you), the thirdlings trained themselves to be the best woriors to strike down Vraccas's other creations, but it was proposed in book 3 that Vraccas gave the thirdlings the gift of magic without telling them, as no other dwarf folk had the power to use magic, but Goda, a thirdling, could.

the fourthlings Vraccas gave the gift of jeweling, able to cut the best gems in all the realm, to make the best jewelry.

the fifthlings Vraccas gave the gift of the forge, the fifthlings were able to forge the best of the best. any dwarf can smith better then a human smith, but the fifthlings could smith better then any other dwarves, and had the best masons, and jewlers, but the fifthlings were wiped out thousands of years ago. but Vraccas took mercy and spread the gift of the forge to all other dwarfs.
