Valkyrie's Pride (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Weapon (greatsword), artifact (requires attunement by a creature with a Strength score of 18 or higher and a class that serves some kind of Deity) Created to combat the great evils of the world, this weapon was forged from adamantine and blessed by a goddess (of choice; the GM can choose to have the magic weapon be blessed by a male god instead). It was once wielded by a powerful barbarian now forgotten and lost to time. It has been hauled around by bandits and cultists who have heard the legends of a brute wielding its power. Seeming as if the weapon itself is seeking out its next true wielder, none since has been able to call upon its innate abilities. Those that come across this weapon don't come across it by chance since it appears to always be moving from person to person, place to place seeking its home. Upon lifting it, the person must have a Strength score of 18 or higher or it will be too heavy to even raise from the floor. To most, it seems like an ornate blade with a gorgeous and sleek design. Once lifted by someone it deems worthy, the core will then glow and suddenly become lighter to carry around. Its immense and divine power flows strongly through the wield as they hold the mythical weapon. You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon and deals an additional 1d6 force damage when swung. When attuned to this weapon, those who carry it in their hands are given a faint sense that nothing can stand in their way. Reach. This weapon adds 5 feet to your reach when you Attack with it, as well as when determining your reach for Opportunity Attacks with it. Unbreakable Edge. This weapon is destroyed instantly only if the goddess that blessed this sword deems the wielder unworthy, otherwise it can not be destroyed in any way. Additionally, if it would be targeted by an effect that would destroy a weapon, such as a Rust Monster's Rust Metal trait or Antennae action, it instead ignores it. Valkyrie's Might. Once attuned, the force damage is increased from 1d6 to 2d6. Sealed within itself is the ability to split in two. Once the wielder attunes to Valkyrie's Pride the core begins to emit a white and blackish glow asking it to speak its command phrase. Awakening Speaking the command word, Valkyrie's Pride splits into two. It keeps all of its innate abilities except for Valkyrie's Might. The ability is then replaced. The blades no longer need to be held in hand and will be under the effects of Dancing but cannot leave within 5 feet of the wielder. Also the wielder cannot use another weapon while using Valkyrie's Might when it is Dancing, they can use one-handed items such as potions to heal themselves or others, but no other weapons may be used during the dance. Valkyrie's Dawn. The Core gleams with a white light granting the user an additional 1d6 in radiant damage. Valkyrie's Dusk. The Core gleams with a black purplish light granting the user an additional 1d6 in necrotic damage. If attuned by a Path of the Zealot Barbarian, it allows the user to use the ability Divine Fury with this blade when Awakened. |
