The "problem" with alter form in Hyrule setting[edit]

The rule of called shot usually allows someone deal massive damage with an altered form. Not to mention having a "second hitpoint bar" is already something broken for me. As a result, I tend to ban shape related spells and give other spells that related with their theme to certain casters.

Thanks for your advice. Maybe I will start on a variant rule focus on solving such problem.(Since shapechange is already one of the most broken abilities in 5e). (By the way, I have removed the "compensation spells" for certain casters) -- Amateur585

OH, "compensation spells"... that's what those were! Honestly, I can agree with you on that one. The only thing that barely balances it out is concentration, but I'm not sure if the 2024 changes to making the spells temporary HP rather than a full transformation was a buff or a nerf. It definitely was a nerf on Magic Jar at least. Good luck with your Variant Rule! --Woahluigi (talk) 06:08, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
I have finished my project on Shapechange Redesigned. I will appreciate it much if you would like to make a visit. If there are any question or uncomplete content, please tell me. --Amateur585 (talk)

Trained fairies[edit]

It's unfortunate that you removed the Trained Fairies from the mercenary/sellsword subclass. It was the only way that the subclass utilized the fairies gained from the main class, and now the subclass doesn't interact with the fairies at all. I understand from a balance perspective that the character probably shouldn't gain it at level 11 at the same time they get their other hunter feature, but i feel like removing it completely doesn't feel quite right either. Also, your initial change you made a note, "Familiars can't attack, so this ability didn't work properly"; however, there is precedence for familiars attacking within pact of the chain, so it's possible for a class feature to allow a familiar to attack even if it's weird to allow one to take the attack action. -User talk:Pandy (Remember to sign your posts!)

Hey! I understand you might be upset, but I didn't actually remove Trained Fairies. Instead, I replaced that feature with Empowered Fairies. I did indeed think it was unbalanced for Sellsword to get two 11th level abilities, so I changed the name Trained Fairies to Empowered Fairies, made it a class feature that all Hunters get at 15th level (replacing a feature that gave Hunters a strange form of blindsight), and slightly changed No Retreat to remove attacking (and also to make the Fairy of Navigation more similar to its Exotic Race Counterpart). I hope that addresses your concern!--Woahluigi (talk) 20:07, 20 November 2024 (MST)
