Cosmetic Tools. Common tool (specialist), 25 gp. This pouch of cosmetics, dyes, and small props are used to change the physical appearance of people. It also includes scissors, a straight razor, and soap for maintaining haircuts, facial hair, and hygiene. An effective disguise typically includes an alternate set of clothes which are not included in these tools. You can create a look with these tools if you're proficient with them.
Creating a Look. You can use these tools to create a look for yourself or a willing humanoid, which takes 10 minutes. Your look can be war paint, beautification, or a disguise. The DC of any look you create equals 8 + your Intelligence modifier + your proficiency bonus.
A creature becomes unaffected by a look if Searches the target, and the creature's ability check equals or exceeds your look DC. Assume any close one-on-one interaction will have a creature Search the target once before the target can make a Charisma check.
Any creature with truesight is unaffected by any look. Folks who hail from cultures with different standards of beauty or fear might be unaffected as well, if your narrator crafts such a world.
Any look ends if the target becomes soaked, gains a new look, or finishes downtime.
War Paint. The war painted target has advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks made for other folk who can see the target.
Beautification. The beautified target has advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) and Charisma (Performance) checks made against other folk who can see the target.
Disguise. The disguised target becomes unrecognizable as its normal persona. When a creature Searches the target, the target can make a Charisma (Deception) check. The Search only sees through the disguise it the check result not only hits your look DC, but also exceeds the Charisma (Deception) check result. You can recreate the same disguise for a the same target multiple times to aid in giving it an alternate persona.
