Universal Collapse
13th-level Transmutation
Casting time: 10 minutes
Range: Self, 1000 mile radius
Components: V, S, M (an artifact from a destroyed plane of existence, which is consumed during casting)
Duration: 1 minute

Universal Collapse is the ultimate invocation of 10th+ level planar obliteration, unraveling the very fabric of reality. When you cast this spell, you tap into the primal forces of creation and destruction, collapsing the multiverse into a singularity of annihilation.

Effects[edit]

Planar Instability[edit]

Upon beginning to cast this 13th level spell, a radius of 1,000 miles centered on you becomes unstable.

  • Tremors: Earthquakes shake the land, causing fissures that lead to the Astral Plane. All creatures within range must succeed on a DC 30 Dexterity saving throw or fall into these fissures, taking 20d10 force damage.
  • Arcane Turmoil: Magic within the radius goes wild. Whenever a spell is cast, roll a d100. On a roll of 1–10, the spell fails and triggers a random effect from the Wild Magic Surge table.

Reality Collapse[edit]

At the start of your next turn after casting, reality begins to unravel in the affected area. All non-artifact objects and structures disintegrate into dust. Creatures within the radius must make a DC 30 Constitution saving throw or take 50d12 necrotic damage and be reduced to 0 hit points. On a successful save, creatures take half damage.

  • Any creature killed by this effect is erased from existence, leaving no soul to resurrect.

Singularity Event[edit]

At the end of the spell’s duration, you unleash a singularity at the center of the affected area.

  • All Matter Collapses: The singularity pulls all matter within the radius toward it. Creatures and objects are sucked in unless they succeed on a DC 30 Strength saving throw. Those that fail take 100d12 force damage, ignoring resistances and immunities.
  • Multiverse Fracture: If cast on a planar boundary, this spell creates a permanent rift in the multiverse. The affected planes collide and merge chaotically, altering the laws of physics and magic permanently. The DM determines the long-term consequences.

Caster Sacrifice[edit]

Upon completing the spell, the caster is consumed in the collapse. You cannot be resurrected by any means short of a Wish spell cast by a god-tier entity, and even then, only if the multiverse remains stable.

Classes[edit]

Archmage Wizards, Oathbreaker Paladins (cosmic-level), Celestial Warlocks, or custom classes designated for cosmic-level campaigns.

DM Note: This spell is intended for extremely high-level or one-shot campaigns, or as an ultimate ability for a world-ending antagonist. Its effects are universe-altering and should be used sparingly.
