Titan’s Gauntlet (5e Equipment)
Weapon (Gauntlet), artifact (requires attunement by a barbarian or fighter)
The Titan’s Gauntlet is an immense, rune-engraved gauntlet forged from Adamantstone, a near-indestructible metal said to be infused with the strength of the Titans. It is massive in size, reshaping itself to fit only those deemed worthy of its power. Etched with ancient glyphs of war and conquest, the gauntlet grants its wielder immense strength, the ability to shatter mountains with a single strike, and near-impervious durability. Its most fearsome ability, Colossal Wrath, allows the wearer to temporarily grow to titanic proportions, their power rivaling that of the ancient primordial beings.
Forged in the molten heart of Ironspine’s Peak, the Titan’s Gauntlet was created by the legendary smith-god Thragmor at the request of the ancient warrior-king Vorgal the Unyielding. It was meant to be a weapon of absolute dominion, a symbol of unchallenged strength. However, when Vorgal donned the gauntlet, he was overcome by an insatiable hunger for conquest, leading to the Titan’s War, where he sought to reshape the world in his own image. It took the combined efforts of Elderglen’s druids, Valoria’s knights, and the mages of the Sunken Kingdom to finally subdue him. The gauntlet was sealed away deep within the Titan’s Vault, buried beneath the strongest fortress of Ironspine, where only the truly worthy—or the truly foolish—would dare seek it.
- 3 minor beneficial properties
- 2 major beneficial properties
Colossal Strength. Your Strength score becomes 26 while wielding this maul. If your Strength is already 26 or higher, you gain advantage on all Strength checks and saving throws.
Titan’s Wrath (Recharge 5-6). As an action, you can slam the gauntlet into the ground, causing a 60-foot-radius earthquake. All creatures in the area must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw or take 6d10 bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. Structures in the area take double damage.
Unbreakable Will. You gain resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage while attuned to this weapon.
Mountain Breaker. The gauntlet ignores resistances to bludgeoning damage, and on a critical hit, the target is stunned until the end of your next turn.
Destroying the Titan’s Gauntlet. Titan’s Gauntlet can only be destroyed by the force of a True Titan’s Wrath—a power long lost to the world. To achieve this, the gauntlet must be worn by a mortal and used to challenge the Echo of Vorthag, the Last Titan, who slumbers within the Heart of the Stonecradle, a colossal mountain at the edge of the world. Only by enduring Vorthag’s Titan’s Judgment, an earth-shattering strike infused with pure primordial power, can the gauntlet be shattered. However, should the wielder fail to survive the blow, the gauntlet will claim their soul and grow even stronger.
