Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a warlock or wizard)

The Void Mirror is an ancient, obsidian-black mirror with a surface that ripples like liquid shadow. Encased in a frame of starless iron, a metal said to have been forged from the remnants of a dead god’s essence, the mirror does not reflect the physical world but instead shows glimpses of the Abyss Beyond—a realm outside time and space. Those who gaze too long into its depths risk losing their sanity, as the mirror whispers secrets of forgotten gods and eldritch horrors. It is said that the Void Mirror can grant forbidden knowledge, open rifts between worlds, or even consume entire souls, trapping them in eternal darkness.

The origins of the Void Mirror are shrouded in mystery, but it is believed to have been created by the First Riftwalker, an enigmatic figure who sought to unravel the fabric of reality itself. Some say it was a relic from a time before the gods, a remnant of a lost civilization that tampered with forces beyond comprehension. Over the centuries, the mirror has been both feared and coveted, used by warlocks, necromancers, and mad kings who sought its dark wisdom. However, every wielder has ultimately met a terrible fate—driven to madness, erased from existence, or worse, bound to the mirror itself, forever trapped in the abyss they once sought to control.

Prophetic Glimpse. Once per day, you can gaze into the mirror to cast foresight on yourself.

Soul Bind. As an action, you can attempt to trap a creature’s soul in the mirror (as the soul cage spell, DC 20 Wisdom).

Step Into Nothingness. As a reaction, you can step into the Void and teleport up to 120 feet, leaving behind an illusory copy for 1 minute.
Destroying the The Void Mirror. The Void Mirror can only be destroyed through a paradox—by turning its own power against itself. This requires a Fragment of True Light, a shard of pure celestial energy that does not cast a shadow. The mirror must be brought to the Edge of Creation, a place where reality begins to unravel, and there, the fragment must be pressed against the mirror’s surface. When this happens, the mirror will attempt to consume the light, but in doing so, it will be forced to reflect something it was never meant to—a reality where it does not exist. This paradox will cause the mirror to collapse in on itself, erasing not only its physical form but also its history and influence. However, the one who destroys it risks being erased alongside it, their very existence undone as if they had never been.
