The Sinblade (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Undifined (Sword), artifact (Requires attunement)
Any soul who worships a non-existant god will not find their peace. This soul stays in a space between heaven and hell: Limbo. These souls have been growing more restless over the years, so dense with souls that it became a physical object. Upon aquisition, this weapon consumes their owner's most used weapon, and transforms into it.
Random Properties. The The Sinblade has the following random properties:
- 1 minor beneficial property
- 1 major beneficial property
- 1 minor detrimental property
- 1 major detrimental property
Greed. This weapon takes the souls of all that it slays, using it for its own strength. It can contain:
- 128 undersouls
- 64 weak souls
- 25 medium souls
- 10 strong souls
- 1 original soul
As long as this weapon contains a soul, that soul can not be resurected through any means.
Pride. This weapon always deals damage, no matter the immunities. It's damage type can be changed into any damage type from which the wielder has suffered damage in the past minute.
Lust. The sword entices nearby souls to trap themselves in your blade passively. You regain 1d10 weak souls and 1d4 medium souls upon a long rest, or when a creature dies nearby. If you roll a 10 and a 4 respectively, you also gain 1 strong soul.
Gluttony. This sword can consume other weapons, up to rare rarity. It can take on the appearance of any weapon consumed using 1 action. You may also consume a soul to gain a buff. Consumed souls may never be resurected. Powerups are:
- Undersouls: You gain 1 extra foot of movement for your next action for every soul consumed. Consuming 30 weak souls or more makes you immune to the effects of difficult terrain. The maximum is 50 souls.
- Weak souls:
- Medium souls: You spend your next action to teleport 5 feet for every medium soul consumed. Consuming 10 medium souls increases your AC by 5 until your next turn.
- Strong souls: Your strength or dexterity score increases by 1 for every consumed soul. Consuming 5 strong souls gives you advantage on attack rolls, and strength and dexterity checks and saving throws.
- Original soul: You enter a state of euphoria. Everything simply seems to make sense. The Sinblade turns into a blade of unimaginable sharpness. This state lasts 1 minute. Any attacks made are at advantage, and when hitting an attack, that attack automatically crits. Movement speed is increased by 25 feet and all spells casted cost 3 spell slot levels lower than they usually do.
Sloth. While holding this weapon, you can take a short rest and recieve the effects of a long rest.
Envy.
Destroying the The Sinblade. If the wielder holds the blade while it is completely filled with souls, it can sacrifice itself to set all the souls free. Upon this descision, all souls are immediately returned to their bodies, or to another host if their body is destroyed or the body is too far away.
