Adventure Background[edit]

The town of Xcata in Hagai is famously known as the last known place that legendary lich Illit Rhyzor was seen on the surface of Grisaire. His estate, the Coldheart House, is said to contain bounties of arcane secrets looking into the legendary spellcaster's life. Many arcane tourists fancy there must be powerful artifacts inside, waiting to be discovered... and stolen. You, an adventurer looking for some coin, find your services requested by one such arcane scholar, a halfling by the name of Trokelly Brighthern. She is convinced there is a valuable artifact hidden somewhere in the Coldheart House: The Coldheart. This artifact is the phylactery of Illit himself, though all thought it was destroyed by the lich to lay himself to rest at long last.

Trokelly promises you a handsome sum of money to go and retrieve the artifact for her.

Treasure[edit]

The characters receive the following treasure, divided up amongst the party. Characters should attempt to divide treasure evenly whenever possible. Gold piece values listed for sellable gear are calculated at their selling price, not their purchase price.

Consumable magic items should be divided up however the group sees fit. If more than one character is interested in a specific consumable magic item, the DM can determine who gets it randomly should the group be unable to decide.

Permanent magic items are divided up according to a system. See the sidebar if the adventure awards permanent magic items.
