The Djinn’s Chalice (5e Equipment)
Wondrous Item, artifact
The Djinn’s Chalice is an opulent goblet of swirling sapphire and gold, encrusted with runes that shimmer like mirages. Crafted by an ancient order of desert mystics, the chalice holds the bound essence of a powerful djinn, granting the wielder immense magical power. When filled with liquid and consumed, the drinker gains a temporary boon—ranging from increased spellcasting prowess to elemental mastery. However, each use brings the risk of invoking the djinn’s ire, as it resents its imprisonment.
Forged centuries ago in the Silver Waste Kingdom, the chalice was the prize of a legendary sorcerer-king who sought to wield the power of the djinn. Through forbidden rituals, he trapped a mighty wind spirit within the chalice, binding it to grant unparalleled magic to its possessor. Over time, the chalice changed hands between warlords, thieves, and monarchs, each using its gifts for both prosperity and destruction. However, the djinn’s wrath grows with each use, whispering to its wielder, tempting them to release it. Legends say that if the chalice is shattered, the djinn will be freed—and its vengeance will reshape the sands of the Silver Waste forever.

Three Wishes. You can use this chalice to cast the wish spell 3 times. After the third use, the chalice turns to dust.
Endless Bounty. When filled with liquid, the chalice can transform it into gold coins, fresh water, or fine wine. Produces up to 100 gold per day before deactivating for 24 hours.
Djinn’s Favor. Once per day, you can levitate, turn into mist, or summon a sandstorm as an action.
Destroying the The Djinn’s Chalice. The Djinn’s Chalice can only be destroyed through an intricate ritual that risks unleashing the bound spirit within. To break the chalice, it must be filled with water from the Oasis of Eternity, a hidden and sacred spring deep within the Silver Waste Kingdom, said to be untouched by time. Once filled, the chalice must be consumed by flames conjured by an Ifrit, the sworn enemies of the djinn. As the chalice melts, the imprisoned djinn will be released in a state of uncontrollable fury. If not immediately subdued or banished, it will seek vengeance upon the one who broke its prison, as well as anyone connected to its long imprisonment. Only those strong enough to withstand the djinn’s wrath should dare attempt its destruction.
