Problems[edit]

So, a couple questions and areas where I think this could be improved. One is the ISBN-13 information needs to be left aligned. I tried to do this, but... Also, if no image is present I think Template:ImageNeeded should be present. Finially I think the external link text should be white. I tries to do these things, but damn wiki syntax with parser functions confusing me :P. *ahem* Sledged. --Green Dragon 14:35, 24 January 2008 (MST)

I'll put the style information in the CSS. A lot of the changes you made I already put in the CSS. I just have to run through the skin updater. —Sledged (talk) 15:13, 24 January 2008 (MST)
I have made the image always present and default to Image:Image Needed.png. Also, I added the product blurb into this template. --Green Dragon 22:46, 29 January 2008 (MST)
Complete overhaul. Let me know what you think :). --Green Dragon 00:08, 30 January 2008 (MST)
I definitely like the image on the side better. But let's try a different caption background color. —Sledged (talk) 14:10, 30 January 2008 (MST)
Looks good, thanks so much for doing that Sledged. --Green Dragon 20:30, 30 January 2008 (MST)
That's looking damned spiffy. --Dmilewski 06:42, 31 January 2008 (MST)

Added the Template[edit]

When this template is added and something is not know (for example the author of a certain work) then the parameter in question ("author" or whatever" should just be removed since then it will default to the "please add the..." thing. Thanks. --Green Dragon 12:24, 31 January 2008 (MST)

No longer necessary to do so. If you put |author=, the default text will still appear. I try to make it standard practice to use #if:s instead of MW built-in default mechanism. —Sledged (talk) 13:59, 31 January 2008 (MST)
For reference, instead of
{{{param|default text}}}
use
{{ #if: {{{param|}}} | {{{param}}} | default text }}
unless it's desired for empty parameters to be displayed. —Sledged (talk) 14:06, 31 January 2008 (MST)
Not at all, it's just that I have not gotten around to learning how to use the if's yet :P. I like your method, thanks. --Green Dragon 13:42, 1 February 2008 (MST)

Added Publisher Line[edit]

I added a "publisher" line to the template. Some novels were originally published by TSR, but were republished by WotC. I am sure that we will run into more cases as we go.--Dmilewski 07:21, 12 February 2008 (MST)

Subtitle & Series[edit]

Some publications have long subtitles that get truncated when becoming a page title. For example: Elocution:The Definite Guide to Wordiness, Unnecessary Elaboration, and Considerable Aggrandizement. The page name would be "Elocution (4e)", but that's not really the title.

How do we want to handle that? Do we want a "title=" override, where the title defaults to the page title, but uses the "title=" if available?

I guess that would be the obvious solution. —Sledged (talk) 12:25, 15 February 2008 (MST)

Other books are parts of series. Right now, I am listing series information in the body. Should we have a series line in the infobox? --Dmilewski 07:32, 12 February 2008 (MST)

Won't hurt to have it. —Sledged (talk) 12:25, 15 February 2008 (MST)
There's also the issue of subseries. For instance Dragons of Autumn Twilight is part of the Chronicles trilogy and of the Dragonlance series. Also, I know there's at least one book series that's a part of more than one "world" series: Fantasy Mysteries [Murder in Cormyr (Forgotten Realms), Murder in Tarsis (Dragonlance), and Murder in Halruaa (Forgotten Realms)]. —Sledged (talk) 12:35, 15 February 2008 (MST)
