Tamer Path: Digimon Bond[edit]

Tamers who prioritize the bond with their Digital Monster/Digimon achieve power that can only be described as Bond Evolution. Whether you obtain this prioritization of bonding through wanting to protect your partner, or whatever, the Bond Evolution you receive directly correlates to your emotions. Intense negative emotions can cause Dark Bond Evolutions, known as Dark Digivolution, while positive emotions will cause more stable benefits that lead to Bond Evolution.

Special Move: Burst Attack[edit]

At 3rd level, the power of your bond manifests in a way that increases the chances of your Digimon dealing a more successful blow. You can activate the power of Burst Attack for 2 Digi-Vice Energy as a Command to allow your Digimon to gain a +2 bonus to the attack and damage rolls. For 1 additional Digi-Vice Energy, if your attack roll is 18, 19, or 20, it counts as a critical hit. You have a number of uses for this equal to 2 + your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1 use). You regain all uses at the end of a short or long rest.

Special Move: Bond Link[edit]

At 6th level, your bond grows ever stronger. Your bond has manifested in a new way, allowing your Digimon to peer into your mind and link with you in a way that it can see through your eyes and vice versa. Doing so in this way has allowed it to view the world and defend itself better due to being more aware of what's going on around it. For 3 Digi-Vice Energy, you can activate Bond Link until the end of your next turn. While Bond Link is active, your Digimon gains a bonus to their AC by +2. Additionally, attack rolls made against your Digimon have disadvantages as if your Digimon had taken the Dodge action. You have a number of uses for this equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier (minimum of 2 uses). You regain all uses at the end of a short or long rest.

Special Move: Emotional Resonance Digivolution[edit]

At 10th level, after you and your Partner Digimon have unlocked the power of its Adult Form, your combined abilities are even further unshackled. Due to your priority to bond with your Digimon, you can temporarily have it ascend to Perfect Level even if you do not meet the requirements for its Perfect Level. However, doing so will require a strong emotional front not just from the Human Tamer/Digi-Destined, but also from the Partner Digimon. When you try to force evolution to Perfect in this way, both you and your partner make a Charisma saving throw, and depending on how far away you are from meeting the requirements to undergo Digivolution to Perfect naturally will determine the DC.

  1. 4 Levels Away - DC is 25
  2. 3 Levels Away - DC is 20
  3. 2 Levels Away - DC is 15
  4. 1 Level Away - DC is 10

Both you and your Partner Digimon must succeed in the saving throw. If both you and your Partner Digimon fail the saving throw, nothing happens. If only you or your Partner Digimon succeed in the saving throw, your Partner Digimon will undergo Dark Digivolution. Undergoing Dark Digivolution in this manner provides the following benefits:

Dark Digivolution

Cost: M (3 Digi-Vice Energy)

As an action, you attempted to go into your Perfect state, though something went wrong. Through trying to force the process of Evolution, your emotions have been corrupted and with it, your Digimon's Perfect level of power. For the next 1 Minute, or until your Digimon's HP has been reduced to 0, your Digimon gains the following effects:

  • Your Digimon takes on the appearance of its Ultimate Form though it's a withered away and boned state.
  • Your Digimon's Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, and Charisma increases by +4.
  • Your Digimon's AC is reduced by -5.
  • Your Digimon has advantage whenever it is forced to make a Strength or Charisma saving throw.
  • Your Digimon is under the effects of Berserk.
  • Your Digimon is under the effects of Bloodlust.

Special Move: Burst Mode[edit]

At 15th level, your Emotions can be channeled in a much more constructive and positive way. While your Digimon is in their Adult or Perfect Form, you can spend a number of Digi-Vice Energy equal to half your Digi-Destined/Tamer Level to shroud them in Emotional Bond Power. This is a far more perfected version of the Emotional Resonance Digivolution. You may only use this feature once per battle, and twice every day, regaining use of this feature at the end of a short rest. You gain the following benefits for every Digi-Vice Energy spent in this way:

Burst Mode

Cost: M (1+ Digi-Vice Energy)

As an action, you flood your Digimon with positive energy, which your Digivice reacts accordingly. Through trying to force the process of Evolution, your emotions have been corrupted and with it, your Digimon's Perfect level of power. For the next 24 Seconds, or until your Digimon's HP has been reduced to 0, your Digimon gains the following effects per Digi-Vice energy spent to activate this effect:

  • Your Digimon gains a blue aura that emits Bright Light for 15 feet, and dim light for another 5 feet.
  • Your Digimon's Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, and Charisma increases by +1.
  • Your Digimon's AC increases by +1.
  • Your Digimon has proficiency in Strength and Charisma saving throws even if it normally does not.

At 18th level, you may apply Burst Mode to the Ultimate Form of your Partner Digimon as well.

Special Ability: Bond Command[edit]

At 17th level, your Special Move: Burst Attack and Special Move: Bond Link can be done without costing any Digi-Vice Energy.

Special Move: Bond Evolution[edit]

At 20th level, your bond with your Digimon has reached its ultimate form. Not only do you have its power at maximum, but as a Full Turn Action while your Partner Digimon is in their Child Form, an Action while your Partner Digimon is in their Adult or Perfect Form, or a Bonus Action while your Partner Digimon is in their Ultimate Form, your Digimon undergoes its true final evolution. This Evolution represents the bond between Tamer/Digi-Destined and Partner Digimon, manifesting all of its power in a way that maximizes the true potential of the Digimon. For the sake of features that require it, this Evolution is classified as the Ultimate State/Ultimate Form of a Digimon. This feature may only be used once per day.

Bond Evolution

For the next 1 Minute, or until your Digimon's HP has been reduced to 0, your Digimon gains the following effects:

  • Your Digimon gains a blue aura that emits Bright Light for 45 feet, and dim light for another 15 feet.
  • Your Digimon's Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, and Charisma increases by +15.
  • Your Digimon's AC increases by +12.
  • Your Digimon has proficiency in Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws even if it normally does not.
