Talk:Waterdrake (5e Creature)

From D&D Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

A) Is drake type supposed to be dragon type? B) If not, is it in the core books? C) If not, is it in another product? D) If not, is it homebrew?

A) If yes, fix it. B) If yes, ignore me. C) If yes, reference it. D) If yes, does it need linked to?

IDK if 5e creature types need a reference, or if they have little to no importance on the game.--GamerAim (talk) 07:06, 14 July 2017 (MDT)--GamerAim (talk) 07:06, 14 July 2017 (MDT)

Drake is a homebrew creature type. The Drake type category is the link, apparently. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs)‎ . . 09:10, 14 July 2017 (MDT)
We're still waiting to see how the new type effects the game. It's going to have to interact with things like Favored Enemy, and various spells and magic items, etc. Marasmusine (talk) 09:17, 14 July 2017 (MDT)
A: It's all cool. If it's too confusing, just don't think about it too hard. Also, I know "water" isn't a damage type, but could I create a new damage type? --Calibri (talk) 15:09, 14 July 2017 (MDT)
What's wrong with "cold" damage type? In most RPGs they're one and the same. Theoretically you could create a new damage type, but I really don't see the point. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs)‎ . . 16:53, 14 July 2017 (MDT)
A: I probably would go with it, but I already have three different cold-themed drakes, and I've already had this planned out. Also, I just did make water damage a real thing. --Calibri (talk) 17:31, 14 July 2017 (MDT)

The hit dice are still wonky; Huge creatures should use d12 hit dice. Also, I'm not sure where the +35 is coming from. If you want the creature to use d20 hit dice you should make it Gargantuan. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs)‎ . . 20:36, 15 July 2017 (MDT)

A: One, I had this planned from the beginning, and I think it's more of a suggestion to use d12s. Two, um, I don't have a two, but just assume that number two totally supports my argument and makes it nearly impossible to argue with. --Calibri (talk) 16:59, 17 July 2017 (MDT)
