Balancing Issues[edit]

For me it is very difficult to get the scope of these abilities, as I feel that I have been somewhat original - or at least so I hope - while doing this. I intend to make this prestige class optimally balanced. I might need to tone it down. I might need to beef it up. Any criticism on this class will be highly appreciated. First, you mentioned surviving a ritual on becoming a sivatar, and then don't mention it again afterwards. Second, I think this class is fairly blanaced, although a Monk joining it would probably be overpowered. However, due to the requirement of a chaotic alignment, this isn't a liekly prestige class for monks. Also, I'd say the requirements are fairly difficult. Multi-classing is an abolute msut for this PRC, based on the requirements. Or you could use a ranger, but I don't know if they have knowledge religion as a class skill. Basically, I'd say include the ritual in discussion, and discuss whether or not the multi-weapon strike woudl stack with a monk's flurry of blows. If it did, one of these with fve levles in monk, one in cleric, and a whoel lot of kamas from this prestige class would totally shread things apart. --Theophenes 23:02, 7 July 2007 (MDT)
I like this one, but the only question I have is why use proficiency with the scimitar for one of the requirements? Just wondering.--Hatman 14:19, 29 February 2008 (MST)
Flavor. It's modeled after Shiva/Siva, and scimitars fit well with the image. -- Eiji 14:42, 29 February 2008 (MST)
Oh. I dont know much about eastern religion, so thanks again, Eiji.--Hatman 20:25, 29 February 2008 (MST)

Dead Levels[edit]

That no abilities are gained at 2nd and 5th levels bugs me. I suggest Improved Multiweapon Defense could be inserted in one of these levels (as Improved Two-Weapon Defense, obviously), and the other could be something along the lines of Oversized Multiweapon Fighting. Multiwielding scimitars? Or, even better, EWP great scimitars? I'd love that!--Ddragon Necrophades 20:21, 16 August 2008 (MDT)

The class is balanced enough. The balance comes from the dead levels, really. --TK-Squared 01:34, 17 August 2008 (MDT)
It is true that I 'dragged out' the class, so to speak, in order to try and keep it balanced, but I agree that especially the fifth level is a pain. At level 5, nothing is gained. No BAB increase, no save increase, only a handful of hit points. I could imagine people using the Sivatar prc take only the first four levels, to get two extra arms and Weapon Synchronicity. I will not add new class features, but I'll see if i can rearrange existing ones to make the class more appealing. --Sulacu 17:19, 18 August 2008 (MDT)
