Talk:Nerubian (4e Race)
From D&D Wiki
The web winding charge could be an interesting idea. But at the moment isn't it functionally the same as have Webway, Spinner's Descent and Webwinder all as encounter powers - call them Web Winding powers - then saying "You can use any one Web Winding power per encounter." A bit like the drow's powers, or channel divinity. Marasmusine (talk) 01:13, 17 February 2014 (MST)
I made the feat appear - add [[Category:Nerubian]] to the bottom of any feats you make. Have you any thoughts on my comment above? Marasmusine (talk) 00:33, 18 February 2014 (MST)
Sorry for the belated reply; I've been gone for quite a while. Thanks for fixing the feats! As for the encounter powers, the original idea behind them is that they aren't exclusive like the Drow powers are. If you took multiple encounter powers that take webwinding charges they could all be used once per encounter, provided you have enough charges to fund them all. I'm considering having them work on a shared cooldown so you could use one repeatedly in a single encounter if you wanted to, but I'm not sure I like the idea of spamming some of them. --Trebec (talk) 20:23, 6 April 2014 (MDT)
- "Mental effects" is a rather vague term and it makes the call really up to the DM in addition since charm, fear, and psionic are all definitely under "mental effects" this makes the +5 very powerful, so perhaps a +2 against effect saving throws with those keywords. Also, taking a short rest after an encounter is expected so this will allow the Nerubian to regain twice as many per rest. Additionally having them listed as powers is just a good idea for formatting purposes, and you have have some of these things be more than an action kinda like a racial ritual, an example would be the building of the wall/bridge that is mentioned.
- On a more personal side note, It doesn't make much sense that after 5 minutes of resting the Nerubian gains back a walls worth of webbing, so perhaps you have something limited to a day with a larger amount of charges. since I already have a similar system for the Chitin Launcher feat I'll simply leave that link. --Aitharious (talk) 15:19, 15 August 2016 (MDT)
