Format

On this page, do you want a bunch of thumbnails of the maps? or a list of links to the map images? I just made a few links, because I couldnt get the thumbnails to line up right.--Mander 19:52, 7 December 2007 (MST)

A place to add detailed descriptions

I am not sure how to do this. I would like to write out a paragraph or two regarding some of these maps to give them a little context. Mostly I want to explain further some of the rooms that are in the Mansion. Also I would like to be able to link the differant mansion maps together, just to make it a little more clear that they are all actualy the same map.--Mander 16:16, 10 December 2007 (MST)

Atly Mansion

Since all the "Atly Mansion" images all deal with the same place should they all go in the same block just a lot smaller or do you guys think it okay having them in three separate blocks? --Green Dragon 21:13, 12 December 2007 (MST)

Maybe this should be in environments after all?

Sorry to start this conversation again. But I am starting to see how this would fit in well with the other sections. We could have a million almost empty sections, or we could have a few almost full sections. Maybe section is not the right vocab word. What do you guys thing? I think the maps section is great. A good question is whether we ought to go back and put other maps up here. Specifically, there are a lot of CS maps that could be put here that aren't (e.g. Media:Ardamap.jpg). Should we add these, or are they better off just staying in the CSes? On the one hand, they are really pretty specific to the CS. On the other hand, they can also be used to provide inspiration etcetera, and so I suggest that they be added. I would like some feedback about this, though, since I feel like there is an obvious but good counter-argument that I am (for some inexplicable reason) missing. I agree, every image should be added here. Also, we could turn this into not only a map section but more like a media section with images from everything (like that character picture that was here a bit ago). Ideas? --Green Dragon 17:58, 6 January 2008 (MST)

I am not at all adverse to having a gallery for other things as well (e.g. one for character images, etc.), but I know that the sections would be more useful for myself if they were separate. We do already have a fair few sketches (thanks to that one guy whose name I can never remember), and so we could set up a section in the "For Players..." that is similar in format to this (e.g. a table of images...). All this talk of images really makes me start thinking that we should bring all the D&D-related images back to D&D Wiki and remove media.dandwiki.com. A couple reasons why this is a good idea stick out to me. One is that uploading would be easier once again. Another is that the changes to the image would show up on recent changes. However, that is a discussion for elsewhere. Oh, and yes, I think we should make a "For Players" image section. Go for it :). --Green Dragon 17:30, 18 January 2008 (MST)

Maps to be Added

Okay, so I went through the whole media repository and anything that was some sort of map (excepting cosmological flowchart things) was put into this category, called (strikingly enough) "Maps." So... we can add all of these to this page. I'll try to get to it later, but someone else can feel free to get a head start if they want to. I'm considering adding the maps to this section in three pieces: dungeon/building scale, local (e.g. town) scale, and regional/continental/world scale. This is going to be most useful in the long run, I believe. –EldritchNumen 21:25, 7 January 2008 (MST)

Stealing this Idea
