Alignment[edit]

I disagree with the assessment that no good man would consider undeath/lichhood. I've never seen any compelling evidence that undeath is automatically evil other than WotC going, "Because we say so" (See Tome of Necromancy (3.5e Sourcebook) for a good rundown on both viewpoints). Someone could become a lich because they want to continue their pursuit of knowledge (which doesn't have to be about how you turn people into Abominations In The Eyes of The Gods), and there's no reason why they have to start eating babies upon actually becoming a lich. Actually, I find the idea of a good-aligned Lich quite interesting. Especially if the players are sent to collect back taxes and run into this: "Oh dear, has it been thirty years already? I'll alert my seneschal to start loading up the gold, and, here, you can bring this Troll skeleton to give to King Daxall as my apology." 64.12.117.10 18:46, 19 November 2008 (MST)

True, this is under the assumption of what I call the 'base' idea that certain things are evil, evil spells, evil energies, etc. If playing by said variant rules, by all means, the alignment restriction changes accordingly.
Since I do consider them variants to the norm however, that's why it has the evil on there for now. Good point in any case. -- Eiji 19:42, 19 November 2008 (MST)

Rating[edit]

Power - 1/5 I give this class a 1 out of 5 because its too powerful. immunities to several types of damage AND immune to crits?! good lord... not to mention several other overpowered areas. --Zap284 18:47, 12 July 2009 (MDT)

Please justify, how these immunities are overpowered? Do you realize it simply gaining the lich template and undead type? Do you realize it is possible to gain most of these benefits by losing a level (not an LA so you get it back quickly) by taking the Necropolitan template? As I said, please justify why it overpowered --Lord Dhazriel 18:53, 12 July 2009 (MDT)

Wording - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because its very well done --Zap284 18:47, 12 July 2009 (MDT)

Problem with Memory[edit]

I see so many Lich ideas and I normally I love them, but after reading Wotc's: "Guide to Monsters" I started to think I don't want to be a Lich. On the Lich page it says that a lich looses thier memory and no longer remembers who they are. Also it says any who use the Lich's name from before the transformation they must comply with the demands. Thus only Mad men would turn into one. Still Liches are Awesome.

And if you ask me add finding forrbiddin lore to the requirements. Thus making the PC's do a challenging quest in order to gain this awesome. Milo High-Hill 03:25, 20 September 2010 (MDT)

Power - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because It matches the progression of the LA with one extra level for "starting the path" I assume. Anyway, balanced in terms of how the Lich template goes. --64.136.27.229 17:13, 19 January 2011 (MST)

Wording - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because No problems in terms of wording that I see. --64.136.27.229 17:13, 19 January 2011 (MST)

Formatting - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because Formatting is well done as I see it. --64.136.27.229 17:13, 19 January 2011 (MST)

Flavor - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because In a common D&D environment, it matches very well. --64.136.27.229 17:13, 19 January 2011 (MST)

Wording - 4/5 I give this class a 4out of 5 because insert Was very easy to understand, the format wasnt perfect but still extremely good--173.245.55.109 10:17, 10 June 2012 (MDT)

Formatting - 4/5 I give this class a 4 out of 5 because See Above--173.245.55.109 10:17, 10 June 2012 (MDT)

Flavor - 5/5 I give this class a 5out of 5 because I have allways liked the idea of being a lich, and this keeps very close to the feel of a proper litch without adding on much in the way of useless fluff. Overall a excellent class for those that prefer to delve into the darker side of the roleplaying spectrum--173.245.55.109 10:17, 10 June 2012 (MDT)
