Talk:Kickboxer (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
Hi, fellow martial artist here (you seem to know your kung fu stuff!). I'm looking at 1st - 5th level and have some concerns with the class. The levels 1-3 features seems far to weak. You deal damage similar to a fighter wielding a sword in one hand, and have an AC of probably 16 but that's it. You need more features in that first tier to help define the class. The 3rd level feature is good, but alone is not enough to give enhance this class, and the 5th level feature is far to powerful, creating a spike in power instead of gradually building it.
My suggestion is, why don't you bring the 5th level feature down to 1st/2nd, and limit it to once/short rest, to give a burst in power for the kickboxer (maybe reducing the damage and gradually building it over time) and the 4th level archetype down to 3rd, to make it similar to other martial classes? I think this class is pretty cool, I didn't read the subclass features but as the base class, it is pretty balanced until 15th level, I'm not sure about flurry of toes + toe-tality --SpikeSunshine (talk) 14:24, 3 March 2022 (MST)
