Talk:Ki Ball (3.5e Spell)
Balance[edit]
I worry about the balance of this spell, so I figured capping it out early (5d6) helps limit its usefulness much sooner than Fireball. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Eiji (talk • contribs) 23:45, 3 October 2007 (MDT). Please sign your posts.
This struck me as odd[edit]
"...detonates with a bright flash and deals 1d6 points of magic typeless damage per caster level..."
Shouldn't that be
"detonates with a bright flash and deals 1d6 points of typeless magic damage per caster level"
Or
"detonates with a bright flash and deals 1d6 points of magic damage per caster level that has no specific type"
I make this assumption mainly to the fact that one of the spells in the Book of Vile Darkness has some version of suggestion on the spells description. I'll look for it and give you the example.
--Edit--
yeah, here we go. The spell "Dark Bolt": -- "Half the damage is cold damage while the rest has no specific type."
If it is not a big deal to you that's cool i just thought this looked odd.

- I see my lsydexia is in full swing. Fixed, thanks. -- Eiji 14:22, 18 May 2008 (MDT)
Saving throw[edit]
Since the spell is targetable("hitting" an arrow slit), what do you think of adding a range touch attack to the spell, if struck, no save, those with-in 20 ft save for half? --Ganre 17:54, 18 May 2008 (MDT)
- Nah, for simplicity's sake I'll keep it mechanically identical to Fireball. There's other Ki abilities which use touch attacks. -- Eiji 18:07, 18 May 2008 (MDT)
