I had real trouble working out what you wanted this spell to do, but I think it makes sense now. Marasmusine (talk) 02:08, 30 April 2015 (MDT)

Do you think it is good? Azernath (talk) 08:45, 30 April 2015 (MDT)
This is a really nice spell. Have you considered adding a Constitution saving throw to resist the armor corrosion? I know things like certain oozes and the rust monster are quite controversial due to their corrosive nature, especially with folks that don't get any lead in to it and get their gear devastated. Providing a straight up damage, with save or - AC could add some serious tension to the spell.
Also, can this affect shields? It feels like it should, similar to the rust monsters Antennae attack wording, and even just affecting metal objects in general, instead of just armor, would really enhance the utility of the spell.--Kahz (talk) 03:16, 9 October 2016 (MDT)
It should harm armors similar to the rust monster, and without a save because it has an effect on your armor or shield not you. You can change what you see appropriate and will see if it is better? --Azernath (talk) 11:03, 9 October 2016 (MDT)

I agree that a save is unnecessary, both thematically and in terms of balance. In this instance, the attack roll replaces the save. If the melting-rock already hit you, then it's going to melt that inanimate nonmagical armor you're wearing no matter what you do. — Guy (talk | edits) 10:38, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
