So...why is this necessary? The Life Cleric is already a badass healer.--Louie20x6 (talk) 19:58, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

Because unicorns.

This might just be me and a few of my players, but the non-killing bit of Devoted Healer seems really stupid. Like, I understand that they can't go killing willy nilly, but if you can't even kill things like oozes, undead, and other evil/mindless beasts, I just find that stupid.

 Thunder

I know I'm late to the party on this. I absolutely LOVE the flavor of this class, but the non-killing bits make this almost non-playable to me. It might be interesting to look at something similar to the tenets from the Oath of Redemption and ingratiate them with this class. Even they admit that sometimes a life must be taken, sad though it may be.

Unearthed Arcana Update[edit]

Can we get this updated to include UA suggestions such as Word of Radiance for cantrip and such? -A Curious DM

Be bold and make your proposed changes. --Green Dragon (talk) 23:53, 18 March 2019 (MDT)
The class doesn't have a special spell list; it uses the Cleric spell list. If Word of Radiance is a cantrip on the cleric spell list, then that cantrip is already part of the options. No change is necessary to the class, in that regard. ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 07:12, 19 March 2019 (MDT)

healer kit proficiency[edit]

there is no such thing as a healers kit proficiency. I understand the confusion but WOTC have it specifically listed with adventuring gear together with the climbers kit and NOT with the tools which are needed to do something you can't do without them. You CAN climb a wall without a climbers kit and you can stabilize a dying creature without a healers kit or herbalism kit. Thus the healers kit proficiency is kinda useless and aads to the confusion that proficiency in it would be needed. Darkboyx7 12:51 19/08/20 (CEST)

I'm inclined to just ignore the complete non-killing parts, but why are there so many gaps in the level features? Most other classes have barely any if at all, yet there are many here. Are there not enough good ideas or what? --Camberp01 (--talk) 8:33 PM, 8/24/24 (CST)

Fullcasters (casters with spell slots that go all the way up to 9th-level) generally don't gain features on odd levels from 5th-level upwards, since on these levels they already gain a new level of spell slot. Anastacio (talk) 12:30, 27 August 2024 (MDT)
