Racial Feats[edit]

I think Racial Feats should be moved from this page to Feats (Hyrule Supplement), under a new section. Not only would they fit in better on that page, they could also have their prerequisites be set to being a member of their associated race, so they would work the same way. Also, Daybreaker could be changed to be a Stal and a Poe feat, which isn't feasible while that feat remains on this page --Woahluigi (talk) 16:08, 19 October 2024 (MDT)

Keaton Suggestion[edit]

I know a few players that like foxes, and I think this a Keaton race for fox lovers would be cool. Being mysterious, rarely seen, and have general wariness from most humanoids due to their tendency of having a greed for rupees, it is fair for them to fit into the exotic race list.

  • Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity Score increases by 2. Your Charisma or Wisdom Score increases by 1.
  • Age. I'm not sure yet. You can figure that out.
  • Alignment. With an instinctual love for rupees, some Keatons slightly lean toward an evil alignment. Others can sway to the other side, being traders of information or other sorts.
  • Size. Medium at largest.
  • Speed. 30 ft. It's possible for 35 ft., but 30 ft. seems safer.
  • Darkvision. Foxes are nocturnal. I believe this works.
  • Sheen of the Tails. Due to Keatons able to identify one another by their tails, whether it is biological, magical, or a mix, you have advantage on Wisdom (Insight) rolls against attempts at others trying to disguise or impersonate as your race.
  • Rupee Sense. Coming from their love of money, while you concentrate, your senses allow you to locate rupees within a 60 ft. radius. The higher value a rupee is, the more pleasant the scent is. Likewise, Rupoors give off an awful smell.
  • Ancestral Arms. (Optional) You have proficiency in daggers and shortswords. As long as you wield one in a hand, you have a +1 bonus to Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) checks.
  • Languages. You speak, read, and write Common and another language of your choice.

This can definitely be worked on, but its a start. There could be subraces such as the Hero of Time era keatons, Minish Cap keatons, or have one based off the Snowcoat Fox from Breath of the Wild. In fact, you could even make a racial class with this one being the Keaton Thief, or make a Thief subclass for Opportunist in the future where the character is more support focused, disarming and stealing items off of opponents. Maybe a feat that involves invisibility and the dancing grass that signals one nearby.

Shoutout to this guy for the ideas of my suggestion. --LowlyStar (talk) 20:39, 4 January 2025 (UTC)

Definitely a race that could be included, but you'd have to carefully balance Rupee Sense so it doesn't automatically detect secret doors or similar that are hiding treasure (Also taking a little inspiration from a Xorn's statblock). In addition to this change, here's what I would have Keatons racial feature be:
  • Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2. One score of your choice from Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma increases by 1.
  • Age. Keatons adulthood around the age of 20, and can live to be anywhere from 85 to 120 years old.
  • Alignment. With an instinctual love for shiny things and a penchant for playing tricks, most Keatons lean towards a chaotic alignment.
  • Size. You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when you select this race.
  • Speed. You have a base walking speed of 30 feet, and a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.
  • Hybrid Nature. You have two creature types: beast and humanoid. You are affected by a spell, effect, or ability if it would function on a creature that is either of your types.
  • Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
  • Trickster's Talent. You gain proficiency with either the Stealth or Sleight of Hand skill (your choice).
  • Rupee Sense. You can pinpoint, by scent, the location of precious metals and stones, such as gold and rupees, within 30 feet of you. This scent only gives you the indication that such valuables are present and their general location, but does not tell you the exact nature or value of such items. This scent is blocked by more than 3 inches of wood, stone, dirt, or other material.
  • Languages. You speak, read, and write Common and another language of your choice.

I think that roughly puts the race on par with most of the other Exotic Races, with their most powerful ability being their Rupee Sense. --Woahluigi (talk) 20:18, 5 January 2025 (UTC)

Looks good to me. Can't wait for it to be added! --LowlyStar (talk) 20:31, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
